God Who Is Doing a New Thing
When life feels like a dry desert, we often struggle to see a way out. But the Bible promises that God is doing a new thing even when we cannot perceive it.
(Isaiah 43:19)God Who Is Doing a New Thing
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19
God is not confined to yesterday. He is not a God who stays in the past, nor is He limited by our history. Even now, He is at work—quietly, faithfully, making a way where there seems to be none.
We often live today with our hearts tied to yesterday’s failures and regrets. But God is the God who begins something new right now, in this very moment.
Does your life feel like a dry desert? Does it seem as if nothing will change, as if there is nothing left to hope for? God is the One who makes a road in the wilderness and causes rivers to flow in the desert.
1. Reflection & Application
Trusting the Unseen: God’s Promises Beyond Our Understanding
Isaiah 43:19 speaks clearly to us: God has already prepared a new thing—and He says it is appearing now.
God’s work of making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert does not depend on our conditions or our abilities. What we are called to do today is simple but profound:
- Release your grip on the past.
- Trust in God’s faithfulness.
- Take one step forward in faith.
- God Is Doing a New Thing
2. Space for Grace: Reflection Questions
Take a moment to pause. If you are near the coast or a quiet park today, let these questions settle in your heart:
- Which area of my life have I already given up on?
- What kind of “new thing” might God be beginning right there?
3. Three Practices to Change Your Today
- ① Expect: When you open your eyes in the morning, say this: “God, I expect the new thing You will do in my life today.”
- ② Let Go: Write down one regret or lingering attachment from the past. Physically tear it up and entrust it to God.
- ③ Notice: In a small change, a meeting, or a movement of your heart, write one sentence about a “trace of the new road” God is making.
- God Is Doing a New Thing
4. A Prayer for the New Season
God who does new things in the wilderness,
Keep me from missing Your light because I am bound to the past. As You make rivers flow in the desert, help me hold Your hand and walk boldly into a new season.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today, once again, we stand before the gift of this day that God has given us. May you hear God’s voice in today’s joys and sorrows and walk wisely on the path of truth.
“When the Word is shared, grace deepens, and the soul comes alive again.”
